It was another notch in the belt for an RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas legend. Rajeev Ram won his 12th ATP doubles title as he and Raven Klaasen took the BNP Paribas Open title.
Ram and Klaasen knocked out Kukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo 6-7(1), 6-4, 10-8 in the championship match at Indian Wells. The win is the second for Ram and Klaasen in 2017 (victory also at Delray Beach) and fifth overall together.
In singles, another former Dallas player – Jack Sock – had an impressive showing. The American took out four former RBC TCOD players (Henri Laaksonen, Grigor Dimitrov, Malek Jaziri, Kei Nishikori) en route to a semifinal showdown with Roger Federer. But Fed was just too good as Sock fell 6-1, 7-6(4) to the eventual singles champion.
Sock does, however, have one singles title this year with his win at Delray Beach.
