After another impressive performance – this time in Belgium – Kyle Edmund finds himself inside the Top 50 to conclude the year.
Singles Champion of the 2016 RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas, Edmund took out David Ferrer and Andreas Seppi before falling in three sets to Richard Gasquet 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 in the semifinals of the European Open in Antwerp, Belgium.
This performance puts the 21-year-old from the United Kingdom at No.45 in the world after beginning the year at No.102.
Edmund was not the only former RBC TCOD singles champ to find success in Belgium. Daniel Nestor, a 1998 winner of the Dallas event, teamed up with Edouard Roger-Vasselin to win the European Open doubles title over Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut 6-4, 6-4.
