Former RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas player Lukasz Kubot and his partner Marcelo Melo were able to battle back to take the doubles title at the Erste Bank Open 500 in Vienna, Austria.
Melo and Kubot first knocked off Mike and Bob Bryan in the semifinals and then outlasted Oliver Marach and Fabrice Martin 4-6, 6-3, 13-11 in the finals for the pair’s first title together in 2016.
Kubot lost to eventual singles champ Michael Ryderstedt in the first round of the 2005 RBC TCOD – his only appearance in the Dallas event.
