Former RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas player Lukasz Kubot earned a long awaited Wimbledon title alongside partner Marcelo Melo.
Kubot and Melo went the distance against Oliver Marach and Mate Pavic, winning 5-7, 7-5, 7-6(2), 3-6, 13-11.
The victory is not, however, the first Grand Slam title for Kubot. The 35-year-old also has an Australian Open title with Robert Lindstedt in 2014.
In mixed doubles, Jaime Murray now owns two Wimbledon titles. Murray and Martina Hingis teamed up to defeat Henri Kontinen and Heather Watson 6-4, 6-4.
Murray’s first mixed title at The Championships came in the same year that he won the RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas – 2007. In that year he paired with Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic for the title.
