American Mackenzie McDonald was victorious in Fairfield, Cal. winning the Northbay Healthcare Men’s Pro Championship this month.
The former RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas player defeated Bradley Klahn 6-4, 6-2 in the singles championship match and secured his first Challenger Tour title of the year.
Klahn, another past Dallas player, took out the top seed Ernesto Escobedo in the Round of 16 while McDonald was able to get past the second-seeded Tennys Sandgren in the quarterfinals en route to the title match.
McDonald reached the Round of 16 in Dallas this past year, losing to the eventual champion Ryan Harrison in straight sets.
It was RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas doubles champ David O’Hare who picked up the doubles title in Fairfield, getting the win alongside Luke Bambridge – the pairs’ second Challenger Tour title of the year. Bambridge and O’Hare won in straight sets, defeating Akram El Sallaly and Bernardo Oliveira 6-4, 6-2 in the finals.
O’Hare won his improbable Dallas title this year with Joe Salisbury, with the duo making it all the way through qualies to capture the win.
